Bariatric Surgeon
Brij Madhok
Mr Brij Madhok is a highly experienced Consultant Surgeon with specialist expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, general and upper gastrointestinal surgery, and bariatric/metabolic (weight loss) surgery.
He began his surgical career in India before advancing his specialist training across London, Manchester, and Yorkshire, and went on to complete the prestigious Sunderland Bariatric Fellowship, accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Madhok is a passionate educator. He plays an active role in teaching medical students and mentoring junior doctors, and frequently contributes to advanced laparoscopic and surgical training courses across the UK. He currently holds a substantive NHS Consultant position at Royal Derby Hospital and serves as an Honorary Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham.
Mr Madhok is known for his calm, meticulous approach and his unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his young family, walking, cycling, and playing squash.
