Sherif Awad
Sherif Awad is a Consultant Laparoscopic Obesity and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon. It’s my job to support you through your journey with Tonic, from initial consultation where we’ll learn all about you and your weight loss journey to date, through to your 5 years of aftercare with our specialist team. We’re here for you at every stage.
FAQs
We are situated on the second floor of the Royal Derby Hospital and are most easily accessible via entrance 21. Once inside, take the lift or stairs to level two where you will be able to make your way into our reception area. If you are coming through the main entrance follow signs for Maternity & Gynaecology.
Car park six is the closest to our entrance, and all patients are eligible for free parking.
Even if you are a day case patient we recommend you bring the following:
- Nightwear, dressing gown and slippers.
- If you are staying for a few days, you may also like to bring casual clothing to wear towards the end of your recuperation.
- Personal toiletries (although items such as towels will be provided).
- Books or magazines to read during your stay.
- Any medication you are currently taking in the original labelled containers. (Please pass your medication in its original packaging/bottle to your nurse who will make sure that it is safe for you to carry on taking).
Our 11 rooms are fitted with en-suite bathrooms, and all come with free WiFi and flat screen TVs. Visiting hours to our ward is also unrestricted, allowing family members and friends to visit day and night at whatever time suits them best.
